Prof. Jayashankar amar rahe !!!

It is unfortunate that Prof Jayashankar has passed away at a time when his life’s dream was never as close as today.

Prof. Jayashankar dedicated his entire life for the cause of Telangana right from his student days to his last breath. He has personified Telangana movement in his life – he had no other personal life other than Telangana.  A man of impeccable character and integrity, a relentless warrior.  He was also a great academician and humanitarian who helped many students and teachers in excelling during his career.

Though he passed away, his great achievement is leaving the movement in the safe hands of many people like him. He built broad platforms on many fronts, to carry forward the movement not only in Telangana but across the globe.

The true tribute that anyone can pay him is rededicating to the cause he espoused for his entire life. We understand that his soul will not rest in peace until a state of Telangana is formed.  On this occasion we urge all Telanganites to take inspiration from his life and carry forward his fight with increased vigor.

Prof. Jayashankar amar rahe !!!

Jai Telangana !!!

Seemandhra Leaders To Meet Sonia on T-issue

Now it's the turn of seemandhra Congress leaders to meet the party president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi over the Telangana issue. The decision was taken by seemandhra leaders in view of Telangana region Congress leaders' delegation putting pressure on the high command to take a quick decision on bifurcation of the state.

Speaking to the media, state primary education minister Mr. Shailajanath said that the congress leaders should have maintained restraint till the party high command takes a decision. We the seemandhra congressmen too have decided to approach madam Sonia and request for a quick decision on bifurcation of the state. We are also waiting eagerly for the issue to get resolved soon

War of Words Raging Between Congress, TDP, TRS

A war of words is raging between Congress, TDP and TRS parties in the wake of Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal's statement about seemandhra legislators and ministers' proposed trip to Delhi to meet the party president Smt. Sonia Gandhi. MP Rajagopal had said "The seemandhra delegation headed by minister Shailajanath is going to Delhi only to appraise the Centre with the feelings of the people of entire state and not to compete with anyone. I'm still sticking on to my earlier words that I am ready to contest from Telangana region, if the high command tells me to do so."

Reacting sharply to MP Rajagopal's statement, TRS leader K T Ramarao said that Rajagopal has lost his mental-balance and speaking like this. If he really has guts let him contest from Banswada on 'Samaikyavadam' (United Andhra) banner. Let him atleast get back his deposit and show that there are takers for his 'samaikyavadam' in Telangana, it's a challenge. Speaking at a meeting in Karimnagar, TDP politburo member Kadiam Srihari said that separate Telangana can be achieved only by creating political crisis and advised the T leaders to submit their resignations.

Cook-and-eat agitation in Hyderabad for Telangana state

Politicians, government employees, doctors, lawyers, IT professionals and students came together on Hyderabad's roads Sunday for 'vanta vaarpu' or a cook-and-eat agitation to demand a separate Telangana state

Intensifying the movement for statehood for Andhra Pradesh's Telangana region, the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) staged the unique protest to urge the central government to immediately initiate the process for carving out a separate state.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life set up kitchens on roads, cooked food and ate it. Men joined hands with women in preparing breakfast and lunch at several places in the city and the outskirts.
While various groups made arrangements on a massive scale for cooking food, families set up small kitchens with gas stoves. The dishes ranged from vegetable to chicken and mutton curries.
The protestors also participated in cultural activities like singing Telangana folk songs and dance.
The protest was peaceful as police did not try to confront the protestors. The flow of traffic was affected in some areas but no major disruption was reported.
JAC convenor M. Kodandaram and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhara Rao led the protest along with his family members.

Former actress and TRS MP Vijayshanti, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bandaru Dattatreya, Telugu Desam Party's suspended leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy and leaders of various associations of government employees participated in the protest.
KCR, as the TRS chief is popularly known, participated in the protest near Indo American Cancer Institute and Research Centre in Banjara Hills. Talking to reporters, he said that if Congress MPs and state legislators resigned for a separate state, he would ensure their re-election.
"A Telangana state can be achieved through sacrifice and not through lobbying," he said, referring to Congress leaders' recent visit to Delhi.

The MP said the Congress would be committing a suicide in Telangana if it refuses to carve out a separate state. The TRS leader also warned the central government that if it further delayed the formation of a Telangana state, the movement could take a violent turn like the 1969 movement.
Earlier, TRS legislator Harish Rao launched the protest at Hyderabad Information Technology Engineering Consultancy City,  the information technology hub. Employees of IT companies also participated in the protest.

The TRS chief's daughter Kavita, who heads the cultural wing of the party,  and his  legislator son Tarakarama Rao also took part in  the protest.

"This is the beginning of the final phase of the Telangana movement and people want to convey to the central government that it should immediately form a separate state," she told reporters.
Leaders of various associations of government employees in Telangana set up a huge kitchen near Telangana Martyrs' Memorial in front of the state assembly building in the heart of the city.

Let The Poratam Begin For Our Telangana: KCR

Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday called upon people of the region to unitedly launch another freedom struggle-like agitation for achieving separate State, as it was the only solution for all the problems facing them.
Addressing a public meeting at Nelvalapalli, in Chintapalli mandal of Devarakonda Assembly constituency, on Tuesday night he said on its part the TRS would not relent in its struggle. He himself would be ready for a supreme sacrifice. The proposed ‘vanta varpu' protest in Hyderabad on June 19 would form part of the intensified agitation by the people to send a terse message to New Delhi that nothing short of a separate State would satisfy them.
While criticising the Congress Ministers and legislators for blocking the formation of Telangana, Mr. Rao pointed out that the Telugu Desam could not escape the blame. He said if the State was formed, the TRS would develop Devarakonda area, set apart 12 per cent reservations for tribal people and make a Dalit the Chief Minister. There would be more posts, employment opportunities and seats in educational institutions.
At the meeting over 500 activists of the Congress, Telugu Desam and CPI, including Nelvalapalli Sarpanch Gurram Jagan, joined the TRS in the presence of Mr. Rao. Polit Bureau members of TRS K. Yadagiri Reddy, G. Jagadishwar Reddy, Nalgonda district unit president B.Narender Reddy were among those who attended.
Earlier, Mr. Rao offered special poojas at Saibaba temple in Chintapalli. Villagers of Nelvalapalli, including colourfully dressed lambada women, accorded a warm welcome to the TRS leaders.
